On Monday 20th October, 15 Young Leaders from across Midlothian District came together in Rosewell for Young Leader Scheme Module A: Taking the Lead.
Module A is the first step in the Young Leader Scheme. It gives Explorers who help with Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs and Scouts an overview of what being a Young Leader involves, their role in the section team, and how to help plan and run great activities for younger members.
Thank you to everyone who took part, and to the volunteers who delivered the session. Well done to all our Young Leaders for the energy and enthusiasm they brought on the night!
About the Young Leaders’ Scheme
Young Leaders are Explorers aged 13.5 to 18 who volunteer alongside adult leaders in a Squirrel Drey, Beaver Colony, Cub Pack or Scout Troop. The scheme is made up of 11 modules and 4 missions, completed while they volunteer in their chosen section. Find out more about the Explorer Scout Young Leaders’ Scheme on the UK Scouts website.
